Meet your urologist
Dr. Anthony Chavez
An accomplished surgeon, cyclist, and father — and a board-certified urologist who has built his career caring for the Tucson community.

A Tucson-trained urologist with deep Arizona roots.
Dr. Chavez originates from humble beginnings in a small Arizona town, where his parents owned a small restaurant — and where he often worked growing up.
He completed both undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of Arizona, earning his medical degree in 2006. He went on to complete a General Surgery Internship and Urologic Surgery Residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas, graduating in 2011 — where he was also trained in advanced Da Vinci robotic surgical skills.
His practice today treats a variety of urologic conditions with additional focus on Da Vinci robotic surgery, in-office no-scalpel vasectomy, and minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones.
Dr. Chavez became a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology in 2013 and served as Chief of Urology at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson from 2012 to 2019. He performs surgery at both St. Joseph's Hospital and Tucson Medical Center.
Outside the office, he's an avid cyclist who loves traveling throughout the western United States with his family.

Caring people behind every visit.

When he's not in the clinic, you'll often find Dr. Chavez on a bike somewhere in the American West.
